If you’re curious about what it might be like to live your life with a new baby, we’ve put together this article to help you understand some of the products that you’ll realize you couldn’t live without having.

Every pregnancy is different, and every woman’s body is unique. What is great about the pregnancy experience is that many of the stages women go through are very similar. As such, there’s a wealth of experiences and knowledge that we can share, which serves as ‘wisdom’ to guide us.

What you can expect postpartum and what can help you through it

There will be so many great and unbelievable moments where your heart is full of love and there will also be moments where you hate everything, you’re lacking sleep, your nipples hurt and you think you’re doing everything wrong. The truth is: You will do an amazing job! You will be an amazing mom! You will make mistakes, feel sorry and do it better. As long as you love your baby, you can’t be wrong.

That being said, there are a few things that help you for the time after birth. You don’t need to be over prepared, but it is good advise to stock up on the really good little helpers. But don’t just ask us, ask also your girlfriends for advice who have been in the same situation. They are the real experts you can trust.

The postpartum period usually lasts three months post-delivery. Many of these products will help you to recover safely and comfortably during this period. What are some of the products that will be a lifesaver Postpartum? Here is our list of Seven Products we believe every expectant Mom should be stocking up on or arranging to buy in preparation for the baby’s arrival.

1.     Sore, Dry, and Itchy Boobs

It’s probably one of the more challenging experiences post-pregnancy, the sensation of sore breasts. If you are going to be breastfeeding your little one, it’s essential to understand that there will be many times that your breasts will get swollen, sometimes engorged, and generally feel hot and heavy from being constantly tugged and pulled.

What’s a Mama to do when that happens? We can grin and bear it or get ourselves some of the best nipple balms on the market. Search for an organic and vegan nipple balm or nipple salve and you are prepared to cream those two as much as you like.

2.     Constipation

Delivering a tiny human being is no simple event. This event requires the strength of a giant and the patience of a saint. We’re not here to scare you, to help you get prepared for what is to come.

Mom’s, especially those who have given birth, have often experienced hemorrhoids post-pregnancy. Hemorrhoids can be a painful condition if left untreated. One way to cure hemorrhoids is to adjust your diet to include high amounts of fiber to keep you regular.

If fiber intake is difficult because of an unbalanced diet, you may need quick relief or help. That’s where NOW organic Senna tea comes in. Senna has been used in many cultures for centuries to cure occasional constipation. Fortunately for postpartum moms, Senna leaf tea has been deemed safe for lactating mothers if used in the right quantities. It’s a natural and healthy alternative to prescription drugs.

By keeping constipation at bay, you can worry less about hemorrhoids ruining your day.

3.     Meal Prep or Meal Kits

Not exactly a product, but this one will be a lifesaver for new moms. Prepare your own food in portions and freeze them or set up everything for Meal Kit delivery. It is a service that delivers your groceries or meals. Between babies’ frequent meals, your bathroom visits, naps, and diaper changes, one of the areas new Moms tend to neglect is their diets.

It’s essential to have the right amount of nutrients to keep your body energized and well enough to nurse or care for your baby. A nursing Mom requires at least 1500 calories per day to help her body recover from delivery. How will you get those nutrients if you can’t find time to prepare your meals?

Of course it’s great if you have the time to precook all of your meals. But let’s be realistic – being highly pregnant, maybe working, maybe having other small children you need to take care of or even if the freezer is just too small, we get it – not every women has the chance to cook for days.

That’s where a grocery delivery service can help. Depending on where in Europe you live, good options to try might include HelloFresh.com, MarleySpoon.com, HomeChef.com or  Sunbasket.com. Research the ones that are available in your area and choose one that meets your diet preferences. Trust us when we tell you, you’ll be glad you did.

4.     Cooling Pads

Though you will be happy and ecstatic with your baby, there’s no doubt that you will be sore. When we give birth, something magical happens to our bodies; they immediately move into a stage of healing.

Part of that process is the contracting of muscles which can leave us tender and sore. A great relief for this symptom is the use of cooling pads. Whether it’s to heal after surgery, c-section, or hemorrhoids, cooling, and heating packs are a lifesaver.

There are a host of cooling and heating pads on the internet, if you just ask one of the search engines. The Ones that caught our eye are reusable cooling pads, that you can keep and reuse.

5.     Waist Trainers

Now, what are we going to do about our tummy, honey? First of all, accepting our body as it is should always be our priority. There is no rush in getting back to something from the time before birth. Give yourself some time and needed rest.

However, Waist trainers have exploded on the marketplace with millennials and Gen Z Mom’s discovering that there is a way to get our bodies back to pre-pregnancy fabulous. There are so many brands on the market, because there is more benefits than just getting back in shape.

A Waist Trainer will you keep your waist in check, which seems to feel good and more comfortable for a lot of women. Maybe it is because you’ll look fabulous while doing or maybe it is just a psychological thing. Either way, if it is something that sounds for you, why not give it a try?

6.     Postpartum Panty

Nothing says I just had a baby than a loose tummy that’s soft and tender and there is no such thing as shame about it. We all have it and it is completely fine. As our bodies get readjusted, we need a bit of structure to pull things in place. If a Waist Trainer is not your thing, a Postpartum Panties might be.

With a structured waistband and mesh panty, this underwear is lightweight and lets the body breathe. These panties complement sanitary pads as they are super absorbent and can protect against bleeding. Choose one with a comfortable, soft and wide waistband that does not fell uncomfy anywhere on your body.

7.     Sanitary Pads

Last but certainly not least, every postpartum Mama will need sanitary pads to help her deal with the heavy flow of blood she will have post-pregnancy. We know it’s not exactly a sexy topic, but it’s sure to be a lifesaver.

If you need to stock up on those, choose extra long Sanitary Pads so you can feel extra safe. To do nature and your sensitive skin after birth a favor, check the ingredients and choose a natural products without any harsh chemicals.

These feminine products are an essential item in a new mom’s sustainable period care. If you want to check out our Online Shop, we recommend the Wolva Long Pads and Wolva Night Pads, which are extra long.

We hope these product recommendations help you as you find your way through living with a new baby. You will do just great, if you only follow your intuition. You got those Mama Genes in your blood, so sit back, relax whenever you can and enjoy this new chapter of your life.
